Kingsley Football Team Camp 2009

 

    Parents welcome to another exciting year of Kingsley Football! This year our annual Team Camp will take place July 20^th-July 23^rd . We will be leaving from Kingsley High School at 8am, Monday, July 20^th and returning the evening of Thursday, July 23^rd. Our team camp will take place in Otsego, MI about 20 miles North of Kalamazoo. We will plan to caravan down in order for our coaches to drive rather than players.

 

    Team Camp is a pre-season camp in which our varsity squad is ensured an abundant amount of time to focus on football, but will also force our team to bond and develop team chemistry. Team Camp will be very demanding and disciplined, yet at the same time fun. There will be pride established that the players will share together for years to come. In short, Team Camp helps ensure that our players leave our program with memories that will last a lifetime.

 

    This year's camp will focus on the triple-option running and passing attacks. We will drill all our plays to near-perfection. We will also focus on different formations to help give us an edge. Your son's participation is absolutely crucial to the success of our team. Our coaching staff encourages ALL players to attend. The coaches will also be asking parents to sign up to donate food and drinks for our boys while we are there. Remember we will be there for 3 nights and 4 days. It would be nice to provide our athletes with three meals a day and snacks at night. We will have access to a grill for cooking, a campfire site, and best of all, a pond for swimming in!

 

    We will also be staying in tents and "roughing" it for these three nights. Players will need to provide their own tents along with sleeping bags and pillows. It would be a good idea to cram as many players into a tent as possible. So, if anyone has an eight or ten person tent that would work great! Although  our evenings will be spent in tents in an open farm field, our afternoons on the football field will be much different. Otsego High School has recently built an entire new state of the art athletic complex. They have several new practice fields and now one of the best artificial turf football fields in the state! They also have a new gym and weight room where we will spend some time during our stay. As always, this camp is intended for ALL of our Varsity players only and is a great way for our team to bond.
 

    The cost of the camp is $60 dollars this year. We feel that it is the MOST affordable camp your son could attend for four days of intense football! The camp costs will cover the use of the practice and game fields, gymnasium, weight room, insurance liability, and a professional medical trainer on site.
